Volkswagen Taigun

Expected launch Date : October, 2014

 The German automobile manufacturer launched the Volkswagen Taigun, a compact SUV at the auto expo. With four meter length, this unit is to be assembled at the Volkswagen’s manufacturing facility in Pune. With spacious and decently luxurious interiors, it sports a 1.2 litre engine producing a maximum output of 74bhp. The model unveiled at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. Its direct competitors are Ford EcoSport and Renault Duster.

Fiat Linea Emotion (Diesel)

 Fiat India unveiled the facelift version of Linea at the India Auto Expo 2014. It had already been revealed to the international auto markets. Its new features include restyled front grille, revised bumper and new fog lamp clusters. Its rear profile has also been upgraded slightly, but the side profile has remained the same. The Fiat Linea facelift comes with the same 1.2-litre T-Jet petrol and 1.3-litre Advanced Multi-Jet diesel mills. The 1.2-litre T-Jet gasoline engine produces 112.4bhp and 207Nm of top torque. The diesel engine is capable of churning out 91bhp and 209Nm of top torque. Both the engines are coupled with a five-speed manual transmission, transmitting power to front wheels. As reports revealed, this model is going to be launched in the first week of March. 

Audi A3

For AUDI lovers., the company unveiled the A3 sedan at the Delhi Auto Expo. It is deemed as the lowest in terms of cost among its fleet. Based on the MQB platform, the car is a success in terms of price. Offered in both petrol and diesel variants, the car promises a maximum output of 168 bhp. Featuring two zone climatic model, anti lock breaking system and the ESP, the car is high on technical gadgetry. The 1.8-litre TFSI petrol unit delivers a maximum power of 168bhp and 320Nm torque, while the 2.0-litre TDI unitbelts out 150bhp of power and 320Nm of top torque.

 Finally bringing the long wait to an end, the Korean car manufacturer, Hyundai, introduced its much anticipated Grand i10 sedan in India, which now has been christened as Hyundai Xcent. Foraying into the sedan segment, Hyundai has left no stone unturned to provide the compact sedan features that will make it stand right in competition against the immensely popular Honda Amaze and Maruti Swift Dzire. Its hatchback sibling is already gaining lot of appreciation in the Indian car market, thus raising the expectations of the motoring enthusiasts from this sub-4 meter compact sedan. Hyundai Xcent in now available in petrol and diesel variants where the former draws energy from a 1.2-litre engine boasting a maximum power of 82bhp with a top torque of 114Nm. On the other hand, the diesel guise bears a 1.1-litre powertrain, producing a highest power of 70bhp along with a peak torque of 160Nm. Both the engines are coupled with 5-speed manual transmission, but the petrol version is also available with a 4-speed automatic gearbox.
